Why build an island of my own
The first thing I wanted after getting my own domain was a place the tide could not reach.
What you write on social networks is writing in sand. One wave and it is gone. I wanted stone: slower, heavier, but it stays.
What is on the island
The wall says who I am. The notches hold each day. The knots tie down what I must not forget. The sand is everyday fragments: photographs, one-line notes, a song.
And there is a place that only appears at night. That one is not open.
Records are not made to be seen. They are made so that years later, you can still recognise yourself.
